CYST
An encapsulated cryptosporidium which is a parasite that enters lakes and rivers through sewage and animal waste.
It causes cryptosporidiosis, a mild gastrointestinal disease. However, the disease can be severe or fatal for people with severely weakened immune systems. |

LEAD
The EPA estimates that up to 20 percent of human exposure to lead is attributable to lead in drinking water. For children, this results in delays in physical or mental development. For adults, it can result in kidney problems or high blood pressure. |

SEDIMENT
Sediment can damage plumbing and appliances over time. It includes rust particles that can cause brown, yellow or orange spots on clothing, fixtures, and toilets.
